Q. How are these photographs scanned?
A. Using a image per minute high resolution scanner, over a two and a half year period.
Q. How many photographs are in the online collection?
A. When completed there will be more than 15.000 photographs.
Q. Why was this project undertaken?
A. To digitize and preserve the collection from loss due to catastrophe and theft. during this project many folders were found to contain no photographs and are lost forever.
Q. How are these gallery's named?
A. The listings are named exactly as the designation on the folder in which the photos are found. we have not renamed any of them, which means you may the find the same subject matter in multiple folders.
Q. How do i best utilize this site?
1. Go to the alphabetical index pages (A thru Z) to review all the subjects listed.
2. Go to the gallery corresponding to that letter by clicking that letter at the top of the listing. all subjects will appear on the right hand side clicking on the desired subject will open the album.
3. Grab your favorite beverage-you're going to be here for a while relax and enjoy
Q. I'm unable to save there photographs what am i doing wrong?
A. These photographs are copyrighted from capture they are for viewing purposes only.
Q. Will more photos be posted to the web site?
A. More photos will be posted weekly until all photographs are up and viewable. special collections such as the Murdaugh collection are being prepared at this time.
